INGREDIENTS YOU WILL NEED:

  • 1 1/2 cups plain flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1/2 cup melted butter
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup white sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 cups of chocolate chips ( or chocolate chunks)
  • Sea Salt ( to sprinkle)
  • Vanilla ice cream

PREPARING THE COOKIE DOUGH

In a bowl add melted and cooled butter, add brown and white sugar and give that a nice mix. Add one large egg, vanilla and combine everything well. Swift in the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt and combine everything. Make sure not to over mix the dough. Finally add the chocolate chips and combine gently. Again make sure to not over mix.

BAKING THE CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIE DOUGH

Pre-heat the oven to 175 Degree Celsius.

Transfer the chocolate chip cookie dough to oven proof skillet or a cake tin. Spread the dough across the skillet or the cake tin. Add more chocolate chips on top, sprinkle some sea salt. This takes the recipe to a whole new level. Bake at 175 Degree Celsius for about 20 to 25 minutes. After baking is done, the centre might look a bit under cooked, but that’s ok. The cooking process continues even after the skillet is out of the oven.

SERVING THE CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIE DOUGH

Once the skillet is out of the oven, allow it to cool down for 10 to 15 minutes. Do not cool down completely, as we will serve it warm with some vanilla ice cream on top. You can either scoop out portions to a plate and top it with vanilla ice cream or just enjoy directly from the skillet by scooping some ice cream on top. Enjoy with your family and friends.
