Turkish Adana Kebab are basically made from ground lamb, red bell peppers and spices . As the name says it originated in Turkey in a city called Adana . Hence they are called Turkish Adana Kebabs. Ground lamb is mixed with all the spices , chopped red bell peppers , onions and garlic following which the kebabs are then skewered in long metal or iron skewers and then grilled to perfection . It is usually served with a side of salad and flat bread . With all the juices dripping into the flat bread it makes a perfect meal all together. Nevertheless the taste equally good on when served on their own as starter .
TURKISH ADANA KEBAB
Instead of using ground lamb I am gonna use boneless lamb pieces and combine with all other ingredients and blend it to form the kebab mixture . This process is not only extremely easy but also less time consuming and also tastes great altogether.
Ingredients
- Boneless Lamb 500 g
- Red bell pepper 1 medium sized
- Onion 1 medium

- paprika 1 tsp
- sumac 1 tsp
- red chilli powder 1 tsp
How to make Turkish Adana Kebab
Add all the above mentioned ingredients into a food processor and blend . Make sure not to make it too smooth .
Keep the kebab mixture in the refrigerator for about two hours . Use metal skewers if you have them at home or we will be using ice cream sticks . Bamboo skewers work here as well.
After that grease you hands with little oil and skewer the kebabs . Grill the kebabs directly over a pit of hot coal if you are doing it with long metal skewers otherwise we will be grilling in air fryer or oven . Nevertheless grilling on pan also does the job .
How to serve kebabs ?
Serve the kebabs with flat breads and salad for the side . Add the juices start dripping from the kebabs over the flat bread and they taste scrumptious .
I made a very simple salad for the side with chopped onions , tomatoes , chopped coriander leaves , pepper powder and salt.
