WATERMELON LEMONADE

Watermelon lemonade

Watermelon meets lemonade and lemonade meets watermelon! Who does not love watermelon and lemonade, and when you combine them both you get this refreshing drink that will sooth your soul. The flavour of watermelon compliments the lemon and mint flavours so well that it’s irresistible. I am totally in love with this drink and I can confidently say I can sip on this post Iftar throughout this ramadan.

INGREDIENTS YOU WILL NEED:

  • 3-4 cups watermelon cubes
  • 1 whole lemon juice
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • A few mint leaves
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 cup water
  • Ice cubes( optional)
  • A few lemon slices and mint leaves( for garnish)

THE PROCESS OF MAKING WATERMELON LEMONADE

First step in making this perfect is to pick a perfect watermelon that is sweet and full of flavour. After years of not being able to pick the perfect watermelon I have finally learnt the art of picking one. However you still have to be lucky huh!

So if you are lucky enough to pick a good watermelon, then don’t waste your time just cut it open, slice and the chop some cubes. You will need at least 3 to 4 cups of watermelon cubes.

Now go get your blender and add all of those watermelon cubes in it. You will also need to add a few other ingredients. Add juice of one whole large lemon. Yes! 1 whole large lemon. Then add sugar as per your taste, however I did add 1/4 cup of sugar. Add a few mint leaves, 1/4 tsp salt, and of course some water, 1 cup of water should be enough. You can also add some ice cubes if you like but since I live in a cold place I will skip adding ice cubes. Blend everything until it’s smooth. You can strain it if you like a liquid drink but I choose not to strain.

ASSEMBLING THE DRINK

Now we assemble. When I see watermelon and lemon wedges I feel like I am an artist and wanna go all the way out to decorate the juice jar but you don’t have to do any of those. Simply pour the drink in the juice jar and sip in!

However if you have time, then you can add some lemon wedges and mint leaves into the juice jar and then pour the drink in it and add some mint leaves on top. Also decorate the glass with some lemon and watermelon wedges and make your loved ones feel special!
