In a bowl, add the flour, yeast, sugar and salt and mix well. (Note that I am using instant fast action yeast which does not need to be activated with water/milk)
Add one large egg, butter, milk and mix the dough roughly with the help of a spatula.
Dust some flour on a clean working space and knead the dough, really well for about 8 to 10 minutes. You will know when the dough is done, it is smooth and no longer sticks to your fingers.
Cover the dough with a damp kitchen towel and place in a warm place for 2 hours to rest. It should double in size in about 2 hours.
When the dough has doubled in size, divide the dough into 9 equal parts. Take each dough ball and roll them in between your palms and shape them into the buns
Place all the shaped dough balls, in a baking tray lined with parchment paper. Make sure they don't touch each other, as we are not making dinner rolls.
Cover the shaped dough balls with a kitchen towel, and let them rest for 30 more minutes for a second rise.
Pre-heat the oven to 175 degree celsius in the last 20 minutes
After the second rise, egg wash the buns generously, sprinkle with sesame seeds or black seeds. Bake at 175 degree celsius for about 15 to 20 minutes.
Let the buns cool down completely, before you cut them into halves. Toast the cut open sides with some butter and they are ready to assemble.
